Where We Are

Castletownshend is a beautiful village in County Cork on the South West coast of Ireland. The place is steeped in history and is a fascinating place to visit. The large houses, dating back three or four centuries, are well maintained. The local Church of Ireland is a must on your visit to the Village.

Knockdrum Fort and The Three Fingers show the rich tapestry that is Ireland's past. There are many wonderful walks aroud and the Village boasts a beautiful harbour fjord that welcomes many visiting pleasure craft every summer and is home to local fishermen's boats.

• July / August - Annual Classical Music Festival in St. Barrahane's Church
• July - Annual Regatta
• Late July - Annual Maritime Festival
• First two weeks of August - Sailing Fortnight at S.C.S.C. (third oldest in the World)
• Summer / Autumn - several art exhibitions
• Late January - Annual Trotting Races
• We have a very successful GAA club who have won sever County titles.
• We have a Rowing Club who are reigning All-Ireland Champions and have been a great addition to life in the Village and Parish.
