The Famine Angel of Skibbereen

This proposed copper statue will stand above the Abbeystrewery Cemetery in Skibbereen, West Cork, Ireland, approximately fourteen feet high on an existing outcrop of rock.

The Abbeystrewery Cemetery is the site of burial pits and mass graves of the Great Famine of 1845-50. Some 10,000 victims of the Irish Famine are said to be buried here.

Sculptor, American-born, Frank Maher of Church Cross, is looking for support, both financial and physical to get this project completed.
