Confessions of a Choc-a-holic -- Chocolate is the main thing that I cannot control my desire for. I don't know if it's best for my weight loss if I try to give it up all together, like an alcoholic needs to shun all alcohol, or if I can have a small bit from time to time and keep it under control.

I actually went two days without chocolate and I felt pretty good. Besides the fat and sugar in the chocolate, I have problems with my gastro-intestinal track, which increase when I have chocolate or coffee. So, you'd think that I'd be smart and leave it alone.

After those two days of being strong, I had a weak moment in the local shop. I stopped in to drop something off, but knew that I had an ulterior motive -- picking up a chocolate bar. This evening I am feeling bloated and having some stomach pain. Perhaps this will eventually work as a dis-insentive to eating any chocolate.

My kids love chocolate. Of course, why wouldn't they? My husband and I both adore chocolate. I do worry that they will pick-up my bad eating habits. I try not to have any chocolate in the house, so it would be a treat for a special occasion, but then there are days like today, when I feel like everyone deserves a treat if I am going to have one.

Too bad I forgot to pick-up some Special K Chocolate Chip bars on my last shopping trip. They are low in fat and have quite a lot of real chocolate chips. I've been trying to avoid processed foods like this, but I thought it would help with the chocolate problem. Any other recommendations for a chocolate lover on a diet?

I thought it would be easier to keep up the postings using a proper blog than to update the pages manually -- eventhough I am a master web designer!

Slimmer's Diary started a few years ago. There's no date on the postings, so I am not sure exactly how long -- maybe 5 years, after my 5 year old was born. It was a page on the local directory web site I was doing. Turned out that the page got picked up and linked to from loads of weight loss and exercise web sites and started doing OK in search engines without much work.

Writing the postings was a kind of therapy for me. Eventhough I didn't know if anyone was actually reading. Besides the need to lose weight, I just need to blow off some steam, and I really miss writing for myself, not just for work!

Hope you find something useful here. Feel free to comment and add to what you see.
